Dr. Saks is a Board Certified orthodontist and he brings over 10 years of private practice experience to the Mooresville area to be closer to his extended family and enjoy the warm weather that North Carolina provides. He is proudly serving Mooresville and the surrounding communities with state of the art orthodontic care. Dr. Saks and his staff work hard to make sure that you feel welcomed, relaxed, and well-informed. Meet Our Doctor
Becoming an orthodontist was something that I decided to do very early in life. I always felt that the importance of having straight teeth and a wonderful smile mean everything in life. I wore braces for several years during my adolescence, and was fortunate enough to have several wonderful mentors who guided my career path toward orthodontics. Now I have the pleasure of helping my patients and seeing their self-esteem and confidence transform as they realize their beautiful smiles.
Coming from a family of healthcare providers, I have always valued that aspect of patient care that cannot be taught. I enjoy getting to know each individual that I treat and subsequently learning something unique about that person. I also like to clearly explain a customized diagnosis and treatment plan so that my patients and/or their family can make an informed decision regarding their orthodontic care. My motto is to ‘treat each patient like family,’ so that every person in our office can have complete confidence in our exceptional care.
There are now more treatment choices that ever before; from the latest state of the art bracket technology to the simplicity of Invisalign- a clear aligner system that moves teeth without the use of traditional braces. Due to constantly improving technical advances in orthodontics, most people today can be treated in less time and with less discomfort than ever before.
With many years of private practice experience, technical expertise and a warm personal approach, I will work with each patient individually to help them achieve a beautiful smile, a healthy bite and aesthetics that can be enjoyed for a lifetime.

Meet Our Staff
Janine Saks - Business Manager
Janine moved with her family to North Carolina in 2011 from the cold state of Maine. Janine and Dr. Saks were married in 1998 in the beautiful finger lakes region of New York. They met in Boston, where they attended Boston College together. Janine has a bachelors degree in business management and a second bachelors degree in physical therapy. Steve and Janine have three wonderful, active children, and she enjoys spending her time with them, whether helping with their schoolwork, driving them to soccer and swimming, or just hanging out on the lake. At Saks Orthodontics, you will find her in the business office managing the human resources aspect of the business.

Michelle moved with her family to North Carolina in 2006. She has three wonderful children; two of which attend University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, with her youngest at Lake Norman High. When you come into the Saks office, you will notice the welcoming and warm décor, thanks to the vision and skills of Michelle. At Saks, you will feel her presence with the ever-changing brag-boards, decorations, and patient events.
Joining Saks Orthodontics in early 2014, Shana is our Treatment Coordinator and oversees every New Patient consultation and exam. Shana has over 10 years experience in Orthodontics, including chair side assisting and radiography. She graduated from Lake Norman Dental Assisting School in 2006. Shana is a native to China Grove, NC where she still lives with husband Chris and their 2 daughters, Rayleigh and McKinley. When not in the office this southern girl can be found spending time outdoors with her family and friends, hauling her kids to various activities, helping out at church AND still finding time for Pinterest crafts without ever spilling her coffee. Shana also plays a vital role on our marketing committee and brings her passion for fun and creativity.
Sherry joined the Saks Team in February 2020. She grew up in Asheboro NC and started her Orthodontic career in 1982 after attending the Dental Assisting program at UNC-Chapel Hill. She has two beautiful daughters and seven awesome grandkids. Sherry loves the beach, cooking and gardening.
Ana has been with the Saks team since March and has been practicing Orthodontics since 2013. She started off in a small practice in Statesville, NC. She always knew that she wanted to work in dentistry since a very young age. Ana loves making people laugh and creating beautiful smiles. She has a beautiful 1-year old baby girl, a dog, and the privilege to marry her best friend, going strong for 2 years. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family. Family is her #1 priority! Ana is very passionate about learning new things and lending a hand to whomever needs it. You can also see Ana having fun around the office, cracking jokes that make everyone laugh.
Allison joined the Saks team in December 2018. She has learned so much and truly loves what she does each and every day. She feels one of the most rewarding parts of being an orthodontic technician is the happiness and appreciation our patients give us for what we do. Allison enjoys making people more confident and helping them achieve a better bite function. Allison loves being a part of the awesome Saks Team. She and her fiancé Jake love spending time outdoors. When this bride-to-be is not creating beautiful smiles, she is spending time with her family, friends, and traveling.
